Act AS IF. Live AS IF. Train AS IF.
Real life visualization.

(My birthday this year at NASA. Makes me remember how powerful visualization done well is.)
Here is an interesting thing I saw in a dream a couple of days ago and been pondering over (And read about it in the best blog for writers by Steven Pressfield).
The name of the blog is “Writing As If…”
What did I see in the dream? The dream happened after I asked the question, “Why am I failing to reach the goals I set for myself? Even though I have all the energy, hard-working mentality, health, self-confidence, will power, passion — many things going for me and so few things ever in my way?”
I saw two versions of myself doing things in my dream.
ONE.
One version was full of energy, full of certainty, it felt like the goal, the vision for the future and what I was doing was one thing. Inseparable. I acted as if I already was the person who achieved the goals. I lived it all in the dream. I didn’t need to wait for tomorrow. Or the future. It was now.
I trained like I was getting ready for a professional photo shoot with a leading fitness company. Or getting ready for a role in a movie about superheroes with fights and other fun stuff to show off my physique and all the hours of training I put in all these years. That training in the dream felt like a lot of work! I was giving it everything I got at the moment because I knew what I was getting ready for.
I met with top people in different companies to discuss my Mindful Health Management projects like a pro! Like I knew exactly what I was doing and what results I would bring. — And I have that in me.
I was working with NASA life sciences department and longevity related companies giving advice and insights with such a confidence that when I woke up I couldn’t answer the question, “Was it a dream just now? Reality? Parallel reality?”
TWO.
In the version number two of my life I did the same things but with “MAYBE” kind of energy. Nothing felt certain. Everything was blurry. Reality was blurry. And nobody said yes there. Or no. I didn’t believe in my vision, in my self, in the things I was talking about, why would anyone then?
My training was average.
My meetings went nowhere.
My life didn’t change much.
I didn’t accomplish much.
It felt so real. Those two versions of my life in the dream.
I woke up and realized exactly why I fail at achieving the results I want. I realized why people succeed when they do. — It has nothing to do with a strategy. Everyone has their own way.
When we decide to act “As If” we already have the result. When we work backwards from the vision. When we work from that place, that energy, that frequency, when we really feel it with all out guts — that’s when the reality bends, that’s when true magic happens.
I’m not sure I can put into words and express well what I mean and what I felt and still feeling but…
I feel like I can touch my visions now.
I feel I’m living it all now already.
There is no time frame. No tomorrow. Inseparable.
When I woke up that morning after the dream I made a decision to make next month rent in one day. On that day. — I needed it to fully concentrate on real work that matters to me. To put my mind in the right place.
Guess what?
I did it.
I don’t want to say I know what to do now every single day but at least I can with certainty say when I really mean to achieve something. Or when I merely entertain myself with a thought of it, “Maybe…”. I know when I mean it not with my thoughts or words. But with actions. With everything.
Prioritizing got easier. I do fewer things. Things that matter. We can’t eat it all — there is too much, right? And we can’t do it all. There is only so many hours. So much energy. So much focus we can give to anything. Make sure you spend your hours/focus/energy capital wisely. Just like you would plan your money. I’m still at the very beginning of getting good at spending the resources I’m given. So far I’ve been a waster. Not by wish and on purpose — I didn’t know better. Some lessons take more time to learn.
What’s in it for you?
ONE.
Have a goal. Act AS IF right now. Today. Act like you really mean to get it. Like you have it. There should be no maybe in your head. It’s happening. Time is nothing. The more you give the faster you move your goal and vision towards you. The sky is not the limit. There are people planning sending ships to Mars this week.
TWO.
Spend wisely your time. Your energy. Your focus. That’s a vital skill. Especially with so many choices and distractions around. Abundance is amazing. But can you choose what matters to you in this world of unlimited choices?
BONUS.
Read the blog.
One other thing I discovered in the dream that made making choices easier for me.
It simplified my life and to-do list so much!
My best skill — connecting the dots where no one sees any connections.
That’s why I love reading so much on so many different subjects connecting seemingly unconnectable.
That’s why I’m not a specialist but love studies about systems more.
That’s why I’m into arts, science, physical performance, technology … I need to see a bigger picture to solve my life mission.
