Choose to Succeed. It’s simple. It’s binary.
1. 0. You are in charge.

4 am in the morning.
Times Square, a woman from Romania in a beautiful white dress.
Can you take a picture of me?
5 am in the Central Park, a Japanese couple.
3 pm by United Nations building, two boys.
8 PM in the Bryant Park, a family.
Can you take a picture of us?
Can you please read it for me? I can’t see that far.
Can you please write down this telephone number for me? I forgot my glasses. They change it so often these days…
Can you show us the way to the Museum of Natural History?
People seem to be comfortable asking me questions.
It wasn’t always like that.
Would you ask a question a person who looks lost? Or like they are not there? Running, walking. In transit from here to there, from was to will.
Would you ask for anything a person looking stressed? Or pissed?
I wouldn’t.
And that’s the kind of default setting most people have — scared, unsure, lost, stressed or anxious, worried and insecure, pissed or sad, in-war with the world ready to fight off the enemies. Or on the way somewhere having no time for here, now, you with your “stupid” questions.
I used to be there. I was all of that.
I changed my default setting. It took work. It took time. But it was worth it. I got a new default setting.
Excited. Present. Curious. Open to the world and ready to help, ready to serve. Smiling. Here. Now. Sure. I know my values. I know what I stand for. I know where I’m going. At least for the moment. I have time for life and for people. I love people and I am at peace with the world. I’m not here to fight — I’m here to serve. I’m not afraid to be me and stand for the message, the mission I feel inside. I am who I am and I am OK with you being who you are.
People seem to be more comfortable around me. People seem to be OK being vulnerable around me, being themselves.
I ask lots of questions too. And connect with people with every opportunity I get.
I pet the dogs of strangers and say how cute they are. I ask what the breed is and why they got it.
I complement people’s shoes and outfits when something blows my mind or makes me smile.
I ask questions.
Train.
Why did you get this tattoo? It’s so unusual and beautiful! (An intricate drawing of two hands weaving wool old style)
Thank you. I just like making stuff with my hands, I’m very crafty. I loved this drawing, when I saw it in a tattoo shop and decided to get a tattoo.
Gym.
You look amazing! Are you training for a physique competition? I asked a tough looking girl.
Thank you! Not feeling my best though, just came back from a vacation, ate too much. But no, I don’t train to compete. I used to, but then I realized health is my priority, I don’t want to destroy myself for a one-time show, not worth it for me.
You can learn so much wisdom from people, if you just ask and smile first, when they don’t feel like smiling. And listen with genuine curiosity. And your ears wide open. Heart wide open. Mind wide open. Ready to learn. Ready to change. Yourself.
People — Best School Ever!
I seem to attract the right opportunities and people I’d love to work with easily now.
Why?
I changed. The world has always been abundant, kind to me. I was not always ready to receive it.
One day I woke up and said to myself, “This is exactly what I want. These are the people I want to work with. These are the changes I want to make in the world. This is what I want to be in the world now. What can I do today?”
I’m a hard worker, fast learner, have all the energy, health, enthusiasm and passion I need to make things happen. I can do anything. There is no limit.
And I took first steps — talked to people, said yes to offers that felt right and uncomfortable, contacted people I want to work with, made myself visible and vulnerable, and useful, and things started happening. Nobody owes me anything — but no matter who, no matter where, no matter what — I can always make myself useful, when I’m committed, and that’s the key that opens any door.
Make Yourself Useful!
I keep showing up. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Confident I can do whatever needs to be done. I keep challenging myself, I keep working, learning, playing, exploring, looking for ways to be useful doing what I love — things keep falling into place.
What do I do now?
How do I make myself useful doing what I love?
And I’m focused on my visions.
Like a master of archery never letting the aim out of crystal clear focus.
Like a hunter never letting the prey out of eagle-like focused vision. Ready to shoot. Ready to kill. No second chances.
I listened to the morning coach today. Another thing I do daily. MorningCoach.com — daily audio casts to help you create the life you love living. JB Glossinger, our coach, said, “TAKE ON LIFE!”. The whole cast was about being more assertive. Decide what you want, believe you can have it and go after it like there is no way to fail — because when you believe it, there is truly no place for failure.
We got to claim, what we want with every thought, every emotion and every action.
You can’t think, “Oh, it’d be nice to do that, or be that, or have that”
NO!
Nothing will ever change.
“I want this. I’m gonna make this happen. What do I do now?”
Notice the difference?
For every possibility there are only two outcomes — 1 or 0. Yes or No. It’s simple. It’s binary. It can go this way or that way. It can work out. It can NOT work out.
How can you be sure it’s 1?
BE SURE.
1.
I want this.
1.
I’m gonna have it.
1.
What do I do now?
1.
Think 1.
See 1.
Feel 1.
Do 1.
Simple. Binary. You are in charge.
Plan B?
You gonna make it happen. Keep moving. There is always a way, if you are committed.
