Embrace your mess.
“Is what you’re doing today leading to what you want to do five years from now?”
That question I heard on a podcast yesterday.
Right before my workout.
Right before my first PAID fitness/dance photo shoot.
And that’s all I needed to hear to go crash the workout and do my best at the photo shoot leaving worries, insecurities and anxieties (and my phone unintentionally) behind.
I needed that first gig. That first shoot. However uncomfortable, messy and imperfect it was going to be.
Playing with something, going on castings, doing unpaid-for-experience gigs is one thing. It’s needed. But next step is essential.
Being paid for what you love, for your craft, for doing your thing, the thing you dreamed about. Getting comfortable for selling your art, your creativity. Putting your soul on a display and putting a price on it. Becoming PRO — is a different game.
It’s exciting to step into living your dream. The dream, that you had for years in your head only.
It’s exciting to live your visions.
But it’s also uncomfortable.
Messy and imperfect at first.
Before you get better, before it all becomes your second nature, before exposing your soul for a living becomes your second nature.
You’ll get better at it.
IT will never get easier.
Without that messy first step — there will be NO exciting future where you get to live your dream, not just dreaming it.
Without actions, that take you out of your comfort zone, there is no dream future you get to live.
And most of us, honestly, do not intend to live their dream.
Dreaming with excuses why it can’t be done is much easier. And definitely safer.
Having great uplifting vision is amazing and necessary to move our life forward.
But real life, real changes, it all starts with much less fancy messy first steps.
Embrace your mess!
It leads to the life of greatness. Life you only lived in your head before.
Even Mozart had to start with playing scales. And I bet it wasn’t pretty
