Smart rest.
Enhancing life VS Killing the time.

Today I’m taking a day off from heavy training and my regular routine — gym 5.30 am in the morning, blogging/writing, studying, work.
To transform your body hard work is important. But rest is just as important.
Smart rest.
The rest that enhances your life. The rest, that moves you closer to your goals, your life mission. Or just makes everything SO MUCH BETTER and MORE FUN!
Smart rest is not about:
Sitting in front of TV, barely moving, till your body literally starts to hurt because it needs to move. For the record, not moving will kill you faster than the most crazy workout schedule.
Smart rest is not about:
Loading up on junk food that literally makes you sick. Your body does not get any benefits from piles of junk in your stomach. Your body has to work harder to remove all of it — it’s not rest! No matter how smart “cheat day” theory sounds — it does nothing good for you, if it’s about eating junk. Load up on all the good stuff! That I call rest! Fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds, fish, meat, healthy desserts, dark chocolate, sugar free ice-cream — there is so much choice. Why we still produce and consume junk is a mystery.
Smart rest is not about:
Staying up late binge-watching whatever. You mess up your bio-rhythms, your sleep cycle, your hormone production cycle, your energy levels. You don’t get good enough sleep no matter how many hours you sleep after really late night. It just doesn’t work. It’s stress. NOT rest.
Go to bed earlier. Savor your sleep. Allow yourself bliss.
Smart rest is not about:
Glued-to-the-screen-and-social-media day. It adds stress, it messes up your focus and attention spans, it gives you the feeling of NO connection with high speed connectivity. It often leaves you more depressed because of all those people posting stuff doing amazing cool shit out there, while you, like a loser, sitting here, glued to the screen, doing nothing special. Well, hey, maybe it’s time to leave the screen and actually go and do something? Doesn’t it make more sense?
Smart rest is not about:
Boring movie-restaurant/bar-night club scenario that you’ve done so many times before. Our entertainment industry offers so much. Even for free there are so many options. And all we can come up with — movie, dinner, bar, night club — when I receive an invitation to do something like that, I’m like, he? So boring, so last century.
Eating new foods (most often the same in a new place with a new sauce), drinking at a new place (that feels exactly the same after a few drinks) — is BORING!!! Why for a change don’t you do something fun? Something new — go try Taiko drumming class, learn to mold a vase, try capoeira or aikido class, go to Montauk or your other favorite-movie-scene place you’ve always wanted to check out, go to the beach in the fall or winter, when no one is there, and take no-ordinary pictures.
That’s what I call smart rest.
Life enhancing rest.
NOT just killing the time.

I went to the park.
I’m going to eat all the healthy food I want (probably just a bunch of cashews and some new 100% cacao dark chocolate, yes, I’m boring when it comes to food. There are few things I really love — dark chocolate, coffee, green tea, nuts and seeds, fish and vegetables, berries, healthy-simple-keto-all-natural desserts — I experiment and explore in those areas a lot, digging dipper getting fascinated — it’s amazing how different good chocolate can taste because of different cacao beans used to make it! That alone can take a lifetime to explore!
Yoga is on the menu.
Learning. Reading. Exploring.
Rest smart.
Live your life well.
Cause you deserve it.
You don’t get healthy and stay healthy.
