The Power of UnFocus OR Chill the Fuck Out.

Today is about our goals.

Our goals that often give us more stress and headaches instead of sense of direction, purpose, instead of drive and energy for life.

Goals, dreams are supposed to be our whys that make us jump out of the bed early morning, to keep us awake late at night, working on that project we are so passionate about.

Our dreams, our visions are something that keep us awake, alive, passionate, joyous. In a perfect world that is.

But often we end up feeling stressed, overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, worried because of our goals, dreams, visions.

Why?

Life just doesn’t work as we plan. It doesn’t follow our schedules. It doesn’t care about our to-do lists.

“Man plans, God Laughs.”

Is it bad? Not necessarily.

It usually works out much better than we plan. Life somehow knows better what we need, and what will make us happy.

If we just could let it go. Let go of control and our expectations.

So should we forget about our goals, dreams, plans, visions all together and just accept what comes?

No. We should always have a direction and a vision for ourselves, our lives, to build our dreams. And we usually do, at least short term.

But we should not make our life about one or two goals and get obsessed about it, like it’s the most important thing in the world, and if we don’t reach those goals, we fail in life.

When some goal causes more pain, suffering, when it drains our energy — it’s time to UnFocus, do something else and tell ourselves:

“Chill the fuck out. It’s not the most important thing in the world.”

Seriously.

Life is to be enjoyed. Life is to be savored. Life is to be lived. Life is about being happy at the end of the day and falling asleep with the smile on our face, with our heart filled with joy.

And as long as we put the work in, as long as we practice our craft to become the person we need to be to live our dream — our goals will take care of themselves.

How to reach our goals suffering, pain, worries and anxiety free?

  • Have a vision of your goal. Maybe a few pictures, maybe a dream board — physical or virtual.
  • Identify what you need to practice daily to become that person who lives your goals and dreams.

Example:

Want to be a published author? What does a published author do daily? Writes. So do writing daily.

Want to be a fitness model? What does a fitness model do daily? Trains, eats healthy, rests enough for recovery, takes care of her/his health. So do that daily, learn other practices from successful fitness models.

  • Do your daily practice.
  • Forget about your goals. Just do what you got to do.
  • Have fun. Live. Laugh. Be happy.
  • Every time you get stressed or worried about not reaching your goals tell yourself:

“Chill the fuck out. It’s not the most important thing in the world.”

  • Bonus step: Laugh and Dance it off.
