To know is to do.
It’s not about a F*CKING COOKIE!

As a part of my 100 day challenge (I’ve actually subscribed to Gary Blair’s 100 Day Challenge program), as a part of my challenge I’m learning a quote a day.
Today’s quote was inspiring and very deep, very transforming, if you take the time to ponder and reflect.
“To know and not do is still not to know”
~ Confucius
It made me think, why, if I believe I know, how to succeed and reach the goals I want to reach, make the progress I want to make, why is that I haven’t done so already?
Why is it, a lot of people say, they know, that eating healthy and moving more, working out will transform their bodies, health and life, but there is no action or very little action, that is inconsistent with the actual knowledge?
Why is it, we know an apple is better than a cookie and we still grab the cookie?
You might say, that cookie tastes better, and there is more addictive sugar, hacking your brain, but I believe, that the main reason, why you reach for the cookie instead of an apple is a disconnect, even if temporal, between what you think you know and what you actually believe in.
If you truly believed, that choosing a cookie was making your health worse, was making you sick eventually, was holding you back from being your best self, having your fittest, healthiest, sexiest body you’ve always wanted, having health, fitness and energy, that shoots you to the stars, having greater career and relationships as a result of higher self-esteem, better energy and better looks, having the life you’ve always wanted, if you truly believed, that that cookie choice in different variations every single day was holding you from living your best life — I doubt it, you would choose that cookie, and I doubt, it would taste all that good to you.
If you truly KNEW, what you say you know.
Saying something on autopilot doesn’t mean you even hear it yourself.
And it’s not even about the f*cking cookie!
It’s about small slips here and there, “unimportant and small” details, moments of weakness, when we allow ourselves to be less than we believe we are, when we allow ourselves, even for a brief moment, to disconnect from our true best selves and make those “unimportant” choices, that day after day accumulate and mold our life into undefinable mesh by the unknown artist.
Those small choices here and there mold our BIG life.
It might seem like a lot of work to think of all those choices — so many of them to make daily!
But there is a hack, a time and energy saver.
Create a set of actionable rules according to the truths you KNOW, that will define your choices before they even appear.
If I say I eat no sugar — that eliminates most of the unhealthy stuff right then and there from my diet.
If I say I work out every day — I don’t need to make a decision every day about feeling or not feeling like working out — wake up, dress up, work out — done.
If I say I eat no grains — I’ve just cut out most of the 6-pack killing choices and don’t need to think about it ever again.
If I say I will follow through with every action I say I’ll do — there is no doubts anymore about doing or not doing, no waste of time or energy thinking about it.
It’s binary. It’s simple.
Know. Do. End of story.
