What Elon Musk thinks about motivation.
I love listening to Elon Musk’s interviews, almost all of them, no matter what the topic is.
(Have you listened to his TED talk 2017 about the future? That will be shaped a lot by Elon’s actions for sure. )
Elon Musk is not someone, who you’d call the most passionate and entertaining speaker, but all his talks just make sense, they inspire and motivate you to start contributing to this amazing future, where we all go on vacations to the Moon and visit our relatives and friends on Mars, where the energy is unlimited just like our Sun is, where we our humanity is empowered by AI and computational capabilities of the fastest computers through some computer-brain interface. And yes, his sense of humor is also quite charming and entertaining.
Without speaking too much about motivation, Elon Musk motivates like no one else, by the grandeur of his vision and his bold moonshot (should I say MarsShoot?) actions.
And what does Elon Musk have to say about motivation, when asked about his motivation and inspiration to continue pursuing his goals and vision of the future?
“If you need inspiring words — don’t do it.”
Because starting a company, working on personal transformation, going after any goal that you haven’t achieved before is hard. The bigger the goal the harder it will be, and the more you will have to change. As Tom Bilyeu said in one of his inspirational minisodes of Impact Theory podcast, “You will have to change everything about yourself to make your dreams and visions your reality”.
Because if you were the person who you need to be already, you’d have the life you want already.
It’s going to be hard. So if you don’t feel like you are inspired and motivated beyond any measurable limits to pursue your current goal, if you don’t even have THAT — drop whatever it is you want to do right then and there, take your time to figure out YOUR goals and dreams, and pursue THAT full speed, full time, with enough motivation to fuel your journey with a rocket fuel enough to go where no one has gone before.
1. One of my to-go meals SIX-PACK-FRIENDLY-FAT-BURNING: grab some power green mix from the store (cut and washed) + sardines (water, wild), + radishes (to feed friendly bacteria that keeps me healthy) + olive oil + lemon juice (1/2 lemon) + raw mushrooms. (I change fish for salmon, herring, mackerel or anchovies or eggs, sometimes I add olives, avocado, walnuts and steamed cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, asparagus, Jerusalem artichokes, artichokes)
2. One of my favorite 0 carbs 0 calories savory snack: I eat it plain or wrap my veggies in it.
