When sugarcoat is gone.
I finished listening to one of the most motivational, inspirational podcasts on health, fitness, weight loss and life. It was on Tim Ferriss Show. It was with Jerzy Gregorek.
A coach, who is in his 60s looking and feeling decades younger, more flexible than I am, stronger than most weightlifters, writes poetry (and gets awards for it), whose main mission is to help people of any age and physical condition to have their ideal body and health, the one they wish they had when they were 20 — The Happy Body.
Long story short — if you haven’t listened to the podcast, stop and listen.
Long story short — it’s all about discipline.
Honestly and all BS aside, why haven’t you reached your health/weight loss/fitness/body composition goals yet? Why aren’t you making progress? Why are you going back and forth losing weight and getting it all back?
When sugarcoat is gone — it’s all about discipline.
You haven’t truly committed to anything. You are still looking for all-for-nothing-magic-pill solution. You are still hoping you won’t need any discipline to get the results you want. You still think there is some easy-no-work solution.
But guess what? If it was easy — everyone would be a millionaire with a 6-pack (stolen from Derek Sivers, zen-style entrepreneur from New Zealand).
(My areas of desirable growth are career and finances — I am yet to build needed discipline there)
Yes, there are smarter solutions to get your 6-pack faster with less pain and without compromising your health.
Yes, there are solutions, that you can learn for life, solutions, that eventually will feel like no work at all. (Eating healthy and exercising every day for me now is like brushing my teeth — it’s not work, it’s a habit)
Yes, there are solutions, that don’t leave you craving food, don’t leave you hungry 24/7.
Yes, there are solutions, that are more enjoyable than painful for you.
But there are NO solutions, that require NONE of self-discipline.
If you can’t make yourself to stick to a program, any program — no healthy eating or exercise program will work for you. EVER!
Do you know why you finished school, maybe got a degree, found work and successfully supporting yourself, your family? Why you learned how to read and write? How to walk?
Because there was no question about it in your mind, you were too young to have stupid questions and excuses. You did what was needed until you got the skill. You committed to something and it worked. No matter where in the world you are, no matter what system you used — we all got it done!
Any diet works — when you work for it.
Where did you lose that skill?
Of setting the important-for-you-now goal and committing to a plan to get there? Without searching for all-for-no-work solution? — They don’t exist.
If the change you want required no work — you’d have done it already.
Set a goal.
Get a plan.
Build discipline daily.
