You were not born fat.

I here it so often from people. People, who are constantly struggling with weight, who are “always losing” (“” I heard in reply to my question from a friend of mine in a gym, “What’s going on? Are you losing or gaining? How is it going?”)

For so many of you, struggling with weight for so many years, it indeed feels like ALWAYS LOSING.

Losing the battle for the body you want, for the body you know you deserve, for the healthiest and fittest you.

And hey, I’m not saying everyone got to have a six pack and be super lean. Body image is a choice. Anything you are comfortable and happy with — stay with it. Your first priority is to have the body you are happy with. Really happy with, not because someone thinks it’s pretty and attractive, but because you really, REALLY love being in whatever body you choose to have.

And yes, the body YOU CHOOSE TO HAVE.

Because despite of what you might think, the body, you see in the mirror, is not something you are born with, or something you are destined to have. The body, you see in the mirror, is a choice, choice that you make daily.

You make that choice every time you eat.

You make that choice every time you choose to be active, to exercise, or to go for comfort food instead, for a TV evening with a bucket of ice-cream, or a box of pizza, or a bag of chips.

And sometimes you think, and want to make the right choices, but you end up making the wrong for YOUR FIT BODY choices.

Everyone is unique.

Believe me, I know what I’m talking about — I made fat choices at one point in my life, ending up with 10kg+ on my body, even though I worked out daily, for 2 hours. I made food/lifestyle choices, that caused me to have Vitiligo for almost a decade, before I figured out what I was doing wrong. I met so many people struggling, really working hard to have the body they wanted, ending up frustrated in exactly the same place, or even worse, because of all the stress they had to go through.

And yes, sometimes we create the wrong body image, that we don’t really want or need, but that was sold to us by the media all around us — magazines, TV, advertising of all sorts. But most of the time, we feel guilty and ashamed about our body, about not being in a different body, because… we know we can look and feel much better, we know what “feeling well” should feel like, should look like. For us.

And today I just want to tell you, to share with you these words, words I lived through, I believe in.

It’s not your destiny. You were not born fat, you were not destined for the body that doesn’t feel comfortable, that doesn’t feel beautiful and healthy.

It’s all about choices you choose to make, consciously or not.

Your body, and my body, fit and healthy, are designed to exist with certain lifestyle and food choices we make, with certain lifestyle and food rules. Violate them — and you’ll get your fat body instead. Any of us.

It’s your choice. And mine.

Every time you eat.

Every time you exercise. Or not.

Every time you choose healthy sleep instead of TV.

Every time …

It’s your choice. Your body is a reflection of your choices.
